Elliot Daly has secured a move to Premiership Champions Saracens for next season. The move has been speculated for months, but the England Full Back has now signed a deal that will keep him at Allianz Park until the end of the 2021/2022 season.

Speaking about his move, Daly said “At 26, I believe it is the right time in my career to explore a fresh challenge and the opportunity to do that with Saracens really excites me”. Daly has made 188 appearances for Wasps to date, but has not won any major silver-wear with the Coventry based club since making his senior debut in 2010.

In Daly, Saracens have signed a current England international, who scored a vital try  in England’s victory against 6 Nations champions Ireland last weekend. The utility back also started all three tests in the most recent British and Irish Lions tour in New Zealand. At club level, Daly was selected in the 2016/17 Premiership Dream Team, and was twice nominated for European Player of the Year.

Saracens boss Mark McCall said on the matter, “He’s a talented player and at 26, his best years are ahead of him. Everyone at Saracens is excited to see him fulfill his potential with us.”

According to Andy Goode on the most recent episode of The Rugby Pod, Daily is rumored to play outside centre at Saracens. Regardless, with many of the club’s backline options in their late twenties or early thirties, the signing is welcomed news to Saracens supporters.
