Warren Gatland is a New Zealand born rugby union coach who is currently the head coach of Wales. Since he became coach in 2007, Wales have won three Six Nations titles, including two Grand Slams, and reached the semi-final of the 2011 World Cup. Gatland was also head coach of the British and Irish Lions on more than one occasion.
Gatland is one of many international coaches that is often criticked by the media despite having a fairly decent record as an international coach (well against northern hemisphere sides). This is potentially due to his long-standing drought of wins against the Wallabies (10 years with no success) that was only broken last year and his record against the BIG 3 isn’t so sharp.
Below we take a look at Robbie from Squidge Rugby analysing what exactly Gatland has done for Wales.
