It seems that the French giants Toulon have named Mathieu Bastareaud in their extended squad for there clash this weekend against Stade Francais despite the France international being suspended.
The big centre was sent off last week for his violent actions during Toulon’s game against Castres as shown below: ?

On Tuesday the LNR issued a statement on Bastareaud confirming his suspension until his hearing and it said: “The situation is likely to constitute a violation of the General Regulations of the NRL and the FFR. Mr Mathieu BASTAREAUD is summoned before the Disciplinary and Regulations Committee at its meeting of Wednesday, September 19, 2018. Mr Mathieu BASTAREAUD is suspended pending this hearing.”
It seems the suspension was not acknowledged by Toulon who have named the player in their extended 27-man squad as oppose to the 6-man absentee list for the Stade.
It’s unclear whether it’s a clerical error on the part of the club, or a pointed message to the LNR over their player – only time will tell.
