Foley dropped and Beale installed as main playmaker

Wallabies boss Michael Cheika has completely revamped the Aussie backline for there must win clash with the Springboks.

Kurtley Beale is hardly a stranger to test rugby, with 76 caps under his belt. Although Foley is still rated as the first choice No.10 it is Beale who will take command this weekend, with Matt Toomua also earning a promotion to start at inside centre.

“We just wanted to shake it up a bit, the conversation was not easy with Bernard obviously but we sat down and had a good chat” – Cheika.

The decision to essentially drop Foley by Cheika was not taken lightly but it is obvious that the Wallabies need to try something different to try and break there four test losing streak.

Also with Israel Folau only just fit for the game then Beale could slot into fullback and Foley back at No.10 (should Folau not last the full 80).
