Springbok coach Rassie Erasmus has made six changes to his starting XV for the Rugby Championship clash against Australia in Brisbane on Saturday.

Prop Steven Kitshoff and hooker Bongi Mbonambi will start alongside Frans Malherbe in a new look front row. Regular starters Tendai Mtawarira and Malcolm Marx move to the bench.

Captain Siya Kolisi returns to his favourite number six jersey, while Pieter-Steph du Toit will be wearing the number seven on his back.

Handre Pollard drops to the bench after two below par performances against the Pumas. His place will be taken by Elton Jantjies.

Erasmus also opted to resume the midfield partnership of Damien de Allende and Jesse Kriel.

The back three remains the same as the match against Argentina two weeks ago with wings Dyantyi and Mampimpi and fullback Le Roux. Cheslin Kolbe could make his Bok debut if he runs on the field from the bench.

Meanwhile Wallaby coach Michael Cheika has reshuffled his backline with flyhalf Bernard Foley dropping to the bench and replaced by Kurtley Beale who was selected to start at flyhalf for the first time since 2014. Matt Toomua will move to inside centre in the place of Beale.

Star fullback Israel Folau returns to fullback after he missed the second test against the All Blacks with an ankle injury.

In the forwards Australia was boosted by the news that influential loose forward David Pocock was declared fit after he injured his neck against the All Blacks two weeks ago.

Rory Arnold will start for the first time this year in the second row while prop Taniela Tupou has recovered from his hamstring injury.

Last year Australia and South Africa drew both of their matches against each other with a 23-all draw in Perth and a 28-all draw in Bloemfontein.

Both teams are under massive pressure. The Boks already face a daunting task against the Kiwis next week, but by beating the Wallabies could ease the pressure a bit.
