Today, Eddie Jones will make his Six Nations squad announcement for England’s first game of the tournament which will take place at Twickenham on Saturday. England fans will be happy to hear that James Haskell is looking to return to the England squad for only his second appearance this season in all competitios down to a niggling toe injury.

Although, if Jones does include him in the squad, it will surely be a place on the bench for the 31 year old Wasps man. Even if this is the case, it will at least give him the chance to get some game time in to test out the injury, which will then set the tone for the rest of Haskell’s tournament. It’s not all bad, as his replacement comes in the form of Tom Wood, who has always shown up with his A game when it comes down to international duty.

Haskell has backed his return when he stated to The Courier that he feels “pretty prepared to do myself justice and to do the team justice. I would not play if I didn’t think I could.” This means that England could have one more starting name back on the team sheet than first thought for the France game.

Who do you want to see stepping out onto the pitch on Saturday?
