It has been revealed to Times Media this afternoon that Springboks coach Allister Coetzee has managed to get another shot with the South Africa side, as he has been kept on for this years campaign.

The 53 year old Springbok legend had a shocker of a year in 2016, winning only a few games all year; but has been given another lifeline after his coaching conditions for last year were poor; as he did not even get the chance to choose his staff. Although this year he will be able to choose his own assistants, should he even be given another chance?

The standard of Springbok Rugby has always been top notch and should never fall under anything less; making last years show unacceptable. Although, this year there is only one option for Coetzee; to agree with the SARU to let new Italy coaching staff member Brendan Venter have a larger input on the team, but this situation is yet to be confirmed.

With his own staff and the help of Venter, will Coetzee will be the right man to redeem South Africa’s pride this year?
