Munster coach Anthony Foley wouldn’t rule Paul O’Connell in or out as a possible contender for the new Director of Rugby post in the province.

Asked if  O’Connell be a runner for the new Director of Rugby role, he said:

“That is something you would need to talk to Paul about. It is not something I would talk about.”

Foley is not sure if he will have any input into the appointment either or how quickly the appointment of the new director will be made.

“I don’t know to be honest. I haven’t asked if I’ll have an input, I am more concentrating on the here and now. And making sure that we get results on the weekend. It’s something that I talk to the CEO about every now and then but it’s not a regular occurrence.

“”You would like to it happen quickly, but if it means not getting the right person you take your time.”

The coach will be hoping to have all 10 players who were at Ireland training camp in Carton House last week available to play on Friday in the PRO12 League game against Zebre, 7pm.
