We take a look at five of the teams at the year’s Rugby World Cup who are helping to make the tournament the best ever…

Japan made headlines across the world during the opening weekend of the World Cup after a famous victory over the Springboks. Their attractive brand of rugby combined with a never say die attitude sparked neutrals into life and produced one of the greatest upsets of all time.

Canada may be yet to win a game at the World Cup, however you can’t fault their efforts. On top of that they seem genuinely incapable of scoring anything other than spectacular tries ensuring that any game they contest is sure to be one to watch.

As the lowest ranked team heading into the World Cup Namibia were always on a hiding to nothing, however they have put in several solid performances that have surprised their opponents and continue to play well above themselves given most of the squad aren’t fully professional.

Whilst Wales are still in with a solid chance of making the latter stages of the competition, it is their attitude that must be applauded. A squad decimated by injuries has bounced back and shown incredible heart to claim a famous victory over hosts England at Twickenham.

Of all the teams at this year’s World Cup, Fiji had just about the toughest task facing three of the world’s top sides one after another. Unfortunately qualification now looks beyond them, however they have played their hearts out at every opportunity.
