One of the All Blacks latest recruits has been ruled out of World Cup contention after breaking his leg during his sides Rugby Championship opener…

Naholo broke a bone on debut for the All Blacks last night against Argentina in Christchurch.

All Blacks coach Steve Hansen had intended on taking the Fijian winger to South Africa but has been forced to make a change.

“The only one that’s changed is Waisake because he has a broken, well, cracked bone… so he’s going to be out for three months which now means he’s going to miss the World Cup which is pretty disappointing for him and us.”

He made a solid start to his Test career before sustaining the injury in the 57th minute when he was tossed across the sideline.

“He was weight-bearing on it and pretty good.

“But we got back here (team hotel) last night and it was really sore so Doc thought we should get him scanned. And in the scan they found a crack in it. There is no displacement so that is good but if we can get him right and we need an outside back replacement he will be fit and ready to go by mid-October.”
