1 – Christian Wade
Scored an outstanding try. Showed searing pace and an instinctive finish after he skinned Ian Madigan to go over in the corner. He also was lively in defence making a few telling hits and a turnover. Lucky not to be yellow carded for a deliberate knock on though.
2- Matt Giteau
Linked up beautifully with Mermoz to score Toulon’s opening try. Seems to be thriving at fly-half and looking at his creative best again.
3- Jamie Heaslip
Gave his side much needed go forward ball when they were trailing against Wasps. Led from the front providing a captains performance. Impressive both in attack and defence
4- Charlie Hodgson.
Maybe a surprise choice, however he controlled the game expertly and did not put a foot wrong whilst using all his experience to guide Sarries to a comfortable victory. He did so well, in fact, he managed to limit Owen Farrell to only 5 minutes of game time at the end.
5- Tommy Seymour
Hard to single out an individual in Glasgow’s impressive win over Bath, but Seymour excelled under the high ball particularly in setting up Maitland’s try. Looked lively throughout, he also managed to bag a try. Hopefully his injury isn’t too bad.
