Reports are emerging in France that Toulon playmaker Matt Giteau could be packing his bags in a move that would see him become the best paid player in the world.

It is being reported that Racing Metro are keen on the Toulon star and see him as the ideal replacement for the departing Johnny Sexton.

It is believed that Racing are willing to offer Giteau $1.4 million a year in a bid to lure him to the French capital, although there’s no doubt Toulon will do whatever they can to keep hold of their star man.

This would make Giteau the best paid player in the world from 2015, seeing him earning even more than a number of stars in Japan.

It looks like this could be the first of several big name Aussie moves however with the likes of Will Genia and Israel Folau being touted for potential moves to Europe after the World Cup next year.
