So for those of you who may not have heard, the Protein Bakery are an amazing company that provide (relatively) healthy high protein snacks. Think brownies and cookies with added protein and none of the c**p you find in goodies in most shops.
The products are trans-fat free, preservative free, and wheat flour-free whilst also being nutritionally balanced. The products are so good that they are already earning rave reviews on the web and look set to roll out some major partnerships in the coming months.
The good guys over at the Protein Bakery were good enough to send over some of their freshly prepared brownies and cookies for me to try the other week, and boy did they deliver. As I’m sure many of you will know right now, the demands of pre-season take a really strain on the body and leave you desperately craving sugars.
It was after some pretty hardcore training sessions I had my first brownie as an alternative to a protein shake. Not only did it taste amazing but it was so much more fulfilling than downing another shake.
Throughout the rest of the week I also polished off the cookies and found I had to restrain myself from eating the whole lot in one go. Whilst the cookies were lovely, they weren’t quite as good as the brownies which were easily as tasty as ones full of all sorts of fats and sugars.
It’s fair to say I’m already eyeing up a first order from the guys at the Protein Bakery as having something so good that is still reasonably healthy is nearly impossible to give up. If you’d be interested in checking them out for yourselves then you can check out their website here.
