Rumours are currently circulating in Australia that Wallaby star Kurtley Beale could be on his way to the Bulldogs in the NRL in 2015.
The Bulldogs coach Des Hasler has reportedly made Beale his number one target as he seems him as a direct replacement for Dilly M Medal winner Ben Barba.
Hasler was spotted watching Beale at a recent Warratahs game as Beale helped the New South Wales side to the top of the Super Rugby table.
Despite earning 49 caps for the Wallabies, Beale has had something of a chequered past with alcohol and discipline problems stalling his career at various points.
With Beale only making the bench for the Wallabies during the recent international series against France and failing to usurp Bernard Foley from the number 10 shirt at the Tahs it could be enough to persuade him now is the right time to make the switch.
Beale has already indicated his interest in switching codes “It’s always lingering in the back of my mind,”
“I’m a massive fan of rugby league and I played it all my junior career and I’m always switching channels to watch it on the weekend.
“Hopefully later on, in the years to come, I will be able to put my hand up and have a crack at it.”
The fact Beale is a free agent next year is likely to add even more fuel to the fire as speculation begin to build about a potential switch.
