Owen Farrell is 50-50 whether he will be fit to play in the Aviva premiership Final after picking up an ankle injury. During the warm-up to the Heineken Cup Final, Owen Farrell tripped up over a television wire, and despite playing on, he looked in pain as he walked off the pitch.

“We have some concerns over Mako and potentially Owen,” McCall told ESPN. “Owen has a small ankle injury which he picked up in the warm-up after he tripped over a wire, which is quite disappointing. We’ll see how he is. Mako is the big concern for us.”

Mako Vunipola sustained a knee injury, a repeat of the one he picked up in the Autumn Internationals. Both players were replaced with 15 minutes remaining. Vunipola is a serious doubt for the England tour, yet Farrell should be okay to join the touring party.

The news is another serious blow to Stuart Lancaster, who has had to deal with forging an injury decimated squad together with the added complications of no Saracens or Northampton players. England fans can take some positives with the availability of Mike Brown being announced.
