Since the Lions tour of New Zealand ended in a draw at the weekend with both sides sporting a win each, it has been argued that there should be a decider between the two.
Although this will not happen immediately, it has been said that the Barbarians V All Blacks fixture on the 4th November will act as an ‘unofficial’ decider, as the Barbarians look to gain access to the home nations ranks. The Barbarians committee have said according to Sky Sports; “We are going to assemble an extremely strong team for this historic game at Twickenham. “We hope it will include players involved in the exceptional Lions series with the All Blacks,”
If the game was to become a decider for the quality tour this summer, then they will need permission from all four home nations committees to access the players from the tour; and this is not unlikely.
Although the side will not completely mirror the one from the original 3 game tour, big names such as Warburton and Farrell are more than likely to be included. One man who is likely to be an inclusion for the ‘decider’ is tour star Maro Itoje, who will look to further reinforce his standards against the top sides.
With the strong performances for the Lions, who would you choose to put on a BaaBaas jersey in November?
