Lions boss praises his side’s attitude

British and Irish Lions Head Coach Warren Gatland has praised his side after their 31-31 battle against the Hurricanes today. A game which should have easily have been the Lions’ after a strong start from the visitors.

He said to the press that coming up against such quality competition can be tough, and he is proud of his side for the performance they put in against the Super Rugby side. This comes after the New Zealand media slated some specific player’s performances, and even pictured Gatland as a clown (not for the first time). A joke which was regurgitated down to what was labelled as ‘lazy journalism’, by fellow Kiwis and pundits alike.

In fact, it was All Black legend Sean Fitzpatrick who was most vocal on the matter, stating; “It’s disappointing after such a wonderful Test match on Saturday to that sort of journalism.” emphasising the negative light which now shining upon the tour.

With the game today being the last non-All Black fixture of the tour, who would you choose to step up for the Lions in the remaining two fixtures?
