Hansen to leave the All Blacks post World Cup

Steve Hansen All Blacks Coach 2017

All Blacks coach Steve Hansen has said that he will call his time with the world number 1s to an end after the 2019 World Cup in Japan.

He stated to Sky Sports; “I think, without committing to it 100 per cent, I can’t see myself extending beyond the World Cup and there are probably a couple of others [All Blacks management team] who won’t either..”, so it should be a close tournament with both Hansen, and Eddie Jones leaving their sides post World Cup, leaving the tournament a last ditch attempt to get/keep their side to the number top spot.

Hansen has said that when it comes down to choosing the right man to replace him, it is simply a matter of whether, “they want continuity from a head coaching point of view or do they want someone new…” so the option for a brand new face to take over the All Blacks.

There are two conspired candidates for the new role, with both Joe Schmidt and Warren Gatland being set to leave Ireland and Wales around the same time. Although, this is only down to them being previously linked with the role.

With these speculations and this big announcement from Hansen, who do you think is the right man for the job?
