One of England’s top men George Ford has said that he cannot wait for the challenge that faces England next month.
England play the Barbarians on the 28th of May before they head to challenge Argentina in a two game series at the beginning of June. Ford has said to England Rugby; “My focus is making myself a better player and being part of an England team that can go to the World Cup in 2019 and try and win it,” which is something all England fans will hope to see in Japan in two years time.
With Ford still having his England career ahead of him, the test of playing without the English Lions participants will give him some much appreciated experience in playing under a range of circumstances, which will undoubtably assist the rising star in his progression through the ranks. He went on to later say to England’s media team that “As a team and as a player who wants to keep getting better and developing, that’s great for me to be exposed to that”.
With Ford showing the fans that the England camp is doing nothing but improving prior to the 2019 World Cup, is there a chance that Eddie could end his England days on a high; beating the All Blacks and bringing the World Cup back to England for the first time in 15 years?
First, we shall see if England are up to the challenge of beating the Barbarians, and an Argentina side who will be reluctant to let England get away with two victories in next months two game series. England travel to Argentina for their opening game on the 10th of June; followed by their rematch on the 17th.
