Former Wales man Martyn Williams has backed Warren Gatland to be the perfect man for Wales’ 2019 World Cup trip to Japan.
The Kiwi is currently setting up for the much anticipated Lions tour of New Zealand next month, but this hasn’t stopped talks about what shall happen between then and his return to the Wales scene.
The Chiefs have offered the All Blacks veteran a chance to get a bit closer to home with an offer to coach them in the next Super Rugby season, but Gatland is yet to comment on the matter.
Although this is a tempting offer, he is still focused on helping Wales after his time with the Lions this summer. Williams has said on Club Call that; “That’s why I think he will definitely get to the 2019 World Cup regardless of what happens between now and then, because he does get the team right for a World Cup campaign.” which is some complement coming from the Wales legend.
Who thinks that Gatland could be the one to turn the 2019 World Cup on its head and take the trophy back to Wales?
