South Africa bid for the 2023 World Cup

Rugby World Cup bid 2023

The South African government have backed the SARU in their bid for the 2023 World Cup.

This comes just after South Africa’s new sports minister lifted the ban on the country’s rugby union hosting major events, which could bring around the resurrection of what seems to be a dying South African Rugby Union scene.

SARU president Mark Alexander has said; “We can now put the finishing touches to what we believe will be an outstanding bid to host the 2023 Rugby World Cup”.

With the bright approach to Union in South Africa, who would like to see them host the tournament in 6 years time?
