Gatland responds to Brown’s selection concerns

Lions boss Warren Gatland has said that he is understanding of Mike Brown’s annoyance towards missing out on this year’s tour of New Zealand.

Brown hasn’t held back on showing his emotions about the selection, stating that the tour this year was probably his last chance of putting on a Lions shirt. The Harlequins man also expressed his concern about having “no feedback about being on standby”, which is odd considering the quality of the England man.

Although, Gatland has since responded to the omitted fullback, stating; “I can understand the frustration and the disappointment,” and that he is willing to sit down with Brown to discuss the selection if he “fells hard done by”.

Brown is not the only one who is let down by the selection, as two other England veterans in the form of Dylan Hartley and James Haskell have also been left out of the 41 man squad for next month’s tour. Although, Haskell has shined a more positive light over the situation, stating that it was just “not meant to be”.

Who thinks that the three England men should have been included in Gatland’s side?
