Lions boss Warren Gatland has predicted that England’s new talent Maro Itoje, could be at the centre of some attempted intimidation from the All Blacks next month in an attempt to shut down the youngster.
The former All Black has said to The Daily Mail, that he believes after a strong Six Nations from the Saracens lock, the All Blacks could see him as one of the biggest threats in the much anticipated tour. Gatland has said that he believes his home nation will, “..see if they can shut him down, or physically dominate him.”, which will be a good test for the 22 year old; one which may prove pivotal in his progression over the coming years.
With the added pressure from his own boss, is Itoje going to perform as well as he did earlier this year for England?
You can see if Maro has got what it takes to brush off the potential physical and mental pressure from the All Blacks on the 24th June; as the Lions take a trip the Eden Park.
