Former Aussie and Kiwi internationals face drug charges

Two Top 14 players have been charged with the possession and transaction of the class A drug cocaine.

Toulon man James O’Connor and Racing’s Ali Williams were arrested by police outside a nightclub in Paris on Saturday, and spent a night in the cells.

Williams admitted acquiring the substance and will face the court of law on a later date; where as, O’Connor will only face charges of possession.

The situation took place as Williams was apparently seen in a car which is associated with a suspected Paris drug dealer. All four men (Williams, O’Connor and the two suspected drug dealers) were arrested on site.

Williams’ club Racing 92 has made a statement saying; “If the investigation confirmed the possession of cocaine and the transaction, it would not only be against the law but also a serious breach of our ethics,” when asked about his ‘temporary’ suspension. On the other hand, Toulon are yet to state what their actions are for O’Connor, but we imagine his punishment will not be a light one.

What should the actions be for such serious situations like this?
