Ben Youngs on Lions tour selection.

Ben Youngs over the years has proved his worth in the England and Lions set up. But with talent at every end of the home nations, he will have to graft to earn himself a ticket to the Lions tour later this year.

Youngs has been chosen by Jones for the Six Nations, and this was no surprise as he played in every game last year for England, assisting them to their best year in recent history, which has definitely cemented his England spot.

The Tigers man will look to keep up the unbeaten streak with England, but admits it won’t be easy as he stated that; “If you look across the board, it should be one of the most competitive Six Nations to be a part of.” This is definitely what all us Rugby fans were wanting to hear, as it shows the England lads have to be up for their title defence if they’re expecting some tough competition, meaning we could see a new level to Six Nations Rugby.

Young believes if he performs as he did last year, and if England show up at the Six Nations, there is a good possibility that Gatland will take him to New Zealand. Although, with talent such as his England partner Dany Care, Youngs will have to show his worth.

Do you think the 27 year old deserves a place in Gatland’s squad for New Zealand?
