According to Midi Olympique, via Gavin Mortimer, O’Shea has convinced Sergio Parisse to put off his international retirement and continue playing until the World Cup in Japan.

Not only does this news confirm that Quins Director of Rugby Conor O’Shea is set to take over as the new coach of Italy, but also that one of the games all time greats will still be plying his trade on the international stage in Japan in 2019.

There is no doubting the huge difference Parisse makes when on the pitch so this news will come as a huge boost to the Azzurri after yet another Six Nations tournament looks set to end without a win.
