Lancaster has been criticised by one of the people he selected to play for England during their disastrous tournament
A senior England player has opened up about Stuart Lancaster’s dismal World Cup regime.
Lancaster’s men crashed out of the home tournament at the first hurdle after group stage losses to Wales and Australia.
There have been calls for England’s head coach to resign or be sacked for the country’s failure to even reach the knockout stages.
Now one member of Lancaster’s squad, whose name hasn’t been revealed , has had some harsh words to say, claiming players didn’t respect the 46-year-old because he “did nothing as a player.”
The unnamed England star also criticised captain Chris Robshaw, declaring the captain isn’t the best player in his position “in the country, let alone the world”.
“Some of the lads called him [Lancaster] the PE teacher as he looked and acted like your old school coach,” the player told The Sun .
“He relied on his trusted players like Ben Morgan and Chris [Robshaw], even though they were injured or there were better people playing in their positions.”
