Props are great for holding up scrums (sometimes), but often not much else. Well here are 11 occasions on which props dared to dream of being more than just fat lads…

1. The time WP Nel bounded in from 40 yards out to score this beauty…

2. The time this prop decided to get involved with a game of sevens…

3. The time Adam Jones had the audacity to attempt a drop goal…

4. The time Vadim Cobillas converted this beauty…

5. The time when Ben May came within inches of scoring the greatest prop try ever…

6. The time someone dedicated this entire song to props…

7. The time Soane Tonga’uiha decided to become a winger…

8. And the time he decided to recreate scenes from Baywatch…

9. The time Ben Alexander did a better job than his teams actual winger…

10. The time Taniela Tupou scored a hattrick…

11. The time Cian Healy sat down Richie McCaw…

  1. “Of all time” is a bit of an ask. But I liked it when John Lloyd would take a conversion at the end of a good season at the Brewery Field. In those days (late 60s/early 70s) @Bridgendravens always had good seasons. Sigh. He was a teacher at my school and we did get a half day off when he got a cap or made Wales captain or something.
