BBC Sport have apologised after an online error saw Wales lock Jake Ball named as ‘Jake Ballsack’ on their website ahead of the Red Dragons’ clash with South Africa.

Ball’s team-mate Jamie Roberts tweeted the BBC: “Haha spot the error @BBCSport @BBCWalesSport …I’ll give you a clue – he plays second row for us!!”

A spokeswoman for BBC Sport said the article was amended as soon as the error was spotted.

She added: “We are investigating how this error occurred and the piece was amended as soon as it was spotted. We apologise for any offence that may have been caused.”

Ball, 23, made his debut for Wales as a replacement during a match against Ireland in this year’s Six Nations championship.
