England Head Coach Stuart Lancaster will be left disappointed after news of an injury to another key player emerged after the opening round of games in the ECC.
England centre Manu Tuilagi could miss the autumn international series after suffering a recurrence of his groin injury during Leicester’s European Rugby Champions Cup win over Ulster.
The centre, 23, left the field early in the Tigers’ 25-18 victory on Saturday.
“It’s a recurrence of his groin, which is not great,” Tigers director of rugby Richard Cockerill told BBC Sport.
“That was three weeks last time. That’s going to be an issue for him, with us, and obviously with the autumn series.”
Head coach Stuart Lancaster names his squad on Wednesday and is already without props Alex Corbisiero and Mako Vunipola, hooker Tom Youngs and lock Geoff Parling.
Lancaster will be bolstered by the performances of centres Kyle Eastmond and Jonathan Joseph for Bath this season but there is no doubt that the loss of Tuilagi is yet another blow to his sides hopes during the Autumn International series.
