New Zealander Zac Guildford is facing several weeks on the sideline after becoming the victim of a violent attack late last Saturday.
It has been reported that Guildford was unexpectedly attacked by three men when going to get a kebab with team mate Jonathan Davies after the pair had been out celebrating with team mates.
It is believed that Guildford will be out for three to four weeks following a violent kick to the face causing trauma to his jaw.
The attacke comes just a month after fellow Clermont trio Benjamin Kayser, Julien Pierre and Aurélien Rougerie were involved in a similar incident during pre-season in Millau.
“In this incident, he is the victim,” said Clermont’s Jean-Marc Lhermet.
“There has been absolutely no reason to reproach him since his arrival. His integration is going well.”
