Sportsmanship is Still Alive in Juniors Rugby Game

Bluehaven

Under 14 year old boy’s display sportsmanship beyond their years and why it is and always will be the number one priority.

Due to injury and illness Blue Haven 14’3s arrived with only nine (9) players available at Halekulani Oval Saturday 9th August 2014.

Forfeit does not exist within this amazing Blue Haven team, they tried their hearts out until the mercy rule was applied at 50 – 0 seconds away from halftime.

A spectacular heart-warming gesture then occurred moments later by the Bulldogs players. The Budgewoi boy’s removed their jerseys and offered to wear Blue Haven jerseys to ensure an even amount of players for both teams.

Blue Haven & Budgewoi 14’3s teams played the 2nd half of the match together, enjoying the game, having fun and sharing laughter.

Congratulations to the Budgewoi players for your overwhelming SPORTSMANSHIP and the Blue Haven boy’s for turning up to play footy and continue with the game.

Blue Haven Raiders JRLC are extremely proud of the Budgewoi Bulldogs and our boy’s for highlighting to everyone in attendance ‘it’s only a game’
