Slade Replaces Carter in All Blacks Squad

New Zealand v Canada - IRB RWC 2011 Match 38
The All Blacks squad for The Investec Rugby Championship has been amended with Canterbury first five-eighth Colin Slade called up as injury cover for 100-Test playmaker Daniel Carter.
Carter cracked a bone in the Crusaders Investec Super Rugby Final loss to the Waratahs over the weekend, and the seven-time champions confirmed that while surgery was not required, the most experienced number 10 in New Zealand history would miss at least four weeks of rugby.

Slade, the third highest point’s scorer during the recently completed tournament with 198 points and four tries, has been in solid form of late, especially from the kicking tee.

The 26-year-old is expected to sit in the pecking order behind Aaron Cruden and Beauden Barrett, as All Blacks head coach Steve Hansen muses over his squad to take on the Wallabies.

Slade has played 11 Tests for New Zealand since making his Test debut in 2010 against the Wallabies.
