Super Rugby Round 6 Review – Home Advantage

Super Rugby Round 6 threw some spanners in the works for those tipsters looking for the Grand Slam Points as the home advantage was the key. The home teams won every single match in Super Rugby Round 6, making a mockery of table position especially with the only two unbeaten teams going into the round, the Chiefs and Sharks both losing narrowly. Only six percent of tipsters picked the Force to beat the Chiefs while the Bulls had 25 percent of support in SuperBru making these two results were major upsets, while the Lions and Highlanders really split the tipsters. The days of massive winning margins seem to be finished with four teams earning bonus points for losing by seven or less points. There were definitely some edge of the seat finishes. Did anyone pick the winner of every single match? This leaves you wondering if it is worth picking the home team to win every single match?

Super Rugby

Is the Australian conference really the strongest? With the Force beating the Chiefs and the Waratahs and Brumbies recording comfortable wins, it leaves you wondering if this could be the case. Throw the handily placed Reds into the mix after their trip to South Africa and the Australian conference has four good teams. Unfortunately the Rebels looked good preseason, but have fallen off the pace.

There are now no unbeaten teams in Super Rugby 2014, this shows the depth of teams in this competition.
