All Blacks vs Argentina

The All Blacks are paying $1.02 to beat Argentina in Hamilton.  The All Blacks have won both of their games against the Wallabies while the Pumas haven’t won a game yet although they improved in the second of their losses to the Springboks.

The All Blacks should welcome back Dan Carter to their team, but still have a few players out with injury although this looks set to allow young stars Steven Luatua and Francis Sailli the opportunity to shine at international test match level.

The Pumas have made some changes including the return of captain Juan Martin Fernandez Lobbe, but have left Felipe Contepomi on the bench.

They will struggle to contain the All Blacks juggernaut, but will probably put up a brave fight for the first sixty minutes.  I hope this isn’t a one sided match, but Argentina will do well to restrict the All Blacks to a margin of under thirty points.

Wallabies vs Springboks

The wounded Wallabies host the Springboks on Saturday night.  It is interesting to see the team selections with the Wallabies adding some much needed spark with Quade Cooper starting in the Number 10 jersey instead of Matt Toomua, while Jesse Mogg has also been relegated to the bench with Israel Folau set to be involved more in the game from fullback.  This turns this Wallabies backline into an excitement machine, although there are question marks over his defence.  The Honey Badger Nick Cummins comes onto the wing.  Folau will probably see plenty of ball if Morne Steyn kicks for position.  It will be exciting to see Folau in open space because he was great in Super Rugby

The Springboks have gone for brawn among their changes bringing in Bismarck du Plessis and Flip van der Merwe.  It will also be interesting to sse how Zane Kirchner goes at fullback.  The Springboks will try to outmuscle the Wallabies and utilise the boot of Morne Steyn.

If the Springboks are going to challenge the All Blacks in the Rugby Championship they need to win this game since the All Blacks have already beaten the Wallabies twice.  The Wallabies need to break their duck in the competition and grab a win.  This makes for an intriguing match where the Wallabies will aim to run the big Springboks around the park, while the Springboks will try to out muscle the Wallabies.  It will be a real cat and mouse match and I am picking it to be close.

I think the Wallabies should win this match as they will be hurting so much more than the Springboks and they are playing at home.  It will be an interesting game of cat and mouse.

Who are you picking to win the Rugby Championship Round 3?
